Roped into doing good

Keep the little ones entertained with activities at the malls of Frasers Property, while giving back to the community

If you are ready to get all tangled up in endless fun these school holidays, we know exactly where you need to be.

Discover Singapore’s largest crochet rope playground The RopeScape, a cheery and colourful structure comprising a combination of individual nylon ropes crocheted by hand. It will be constructed at Waterway Point, Causeway Point, Northpoint City and Changi City Point, while a scaled-down version will also be built at The Centrepoint, YewTee Point and Bedok Point.

This is part of Frasers Property Singapore’s Play It Forward campaign, which encourages its shoppers to do good even as they spend.

Children aged four to 12 (between the height of 80cm and 130cm) can enjoy 20 minutes of fun-filled playtime with every $5 donation. All proceeds raised will be donated to the Association for Persons with Special Needs (APSN), a charity organisation that provides special education and vocational training for people with mild intellectual disabilities.

Adults, too, can take part in the merriment. On weekends, The RopeScape will host a $10,000 Flash Treasure Hunt. Frasers Rewards members who spend a minimum of $30 at participating outlets and scan their QR code can enjoy a 30-second slot in the playground’s ball pool. They can win gift cards by collecting as many special coloured balls as they can.

The Centrepoint, YewTee Point, Bedok Point and Anchorpoint will also be venues for an exciting game of aim, Hit The Bullseye. Frasers Rewards members who spend a minimum of $30 at participating outlets and scan their QR code will receive three balls to hit the bullseye for a chance to win great prizes.

After July 1, the ropes from The RopeScape will be upcycled by APSN and a team of dedicated volunteers, and transformed into a variety of everyday items such as key chains, brooches, baskets and floor rugs.

They will go on sale during APSN’s Christmas Bazaar at Waterway Point on Dec 1, and all proceeds will go towards APSN’s Centre for Adults.

Interested in getting creative for a good cause? Sign up as volunteers for the rope upcycling workshops held between July and November, and make upcycled rope products for sale at the Christmas Bazaar.
